Campaign Story
Help Marielle fight Sepsis and Pneumonia
Marielle just gave birth to her second child last May 3, 2017. She was back to work after her maternity leave on July 5, 2017. On her 1st day back to work, she was happily greeted and welcomed back by her officemates. After her lunch, she had her breast pumped to earn milk for her baby. After she had her breast pumped, she had a fever and got into chills which let her not finish her office and went home early. She found out that her left breast is swelling which might cause by contained breast milk. She decided to visit her OB and let her check her breast. As advised by her OB, she needs to pump the milk and throw it since she's not sure if there's a pus discharge which might drink by her baby. After few days, her breast is still aching and swelling and need to see her OB again. She was advised to take an antibiotic for 7days and still told to do deep massage, kneed and manual express on her affected breast even if it's too painful to do it on Marielle's part. After 7days, nothing has changed with the size of the mastitis and she had fever and chill within that 7days of taking antibiotic. That was the time they decided to see a lactation consultant which referred her to a breast surgeon in Asian Hospital in Alabang, Muntinlupa City. Since she still has a fever, she has been admitted to Asian Hospital on July 16, 2017. She had undergone series of tests and laboratories where we found out that her mastitis evolved to abscess which is causing the infection. Also, we found out that she has pneumonia, that yet known if it is caused by the infection gained from abscess. Later on, the lung xray states that there's a fluid on her lungs which causes her for shortening of her breath. On the same day, her breast surgeon confirmed that she has sepsis. She's currently on ICU since July 22, 2017 and her medical bill is blowing up. We are sincerely asking for your financial help, any amount will do, this will also help her to have peace of mind and not thinking a lot on her running and of course the upcoming bill.
Any amount will do and it will be a big help for us.
