Help a mom regain her hearing

My cousin, Tanya has had a hearing aid for almost as long as I can remember. Unfortunately the last couple of years her hearing, even with the assistance of a hearing aid has declined and currently she is unable to hear without looking at the person speaking to her. Even then, she sometimes needs her lovely daughter to mediate with a super load voice and hand gestures.

Tanya also has her own printing company (www.daisyprinting.co.za/about). She manages and runs the business by herself from home. She opened the business to ensure she is always available to drive her kids to and from school, activities and most important to be present in their day as mush as possible. Currently the company is also taking strain due to the fact that Tanya is unable to communicate via phone to customers regarding orders and inquiries.

After consulting various doctors, clinics and institutes there are only a few options available. The safest option with the highest success rate is a cochlear implant. " A cochlear implant is an electronic medical device that replaces the function of the damaged inner ear. Unlike hearing aids, which make sounds louder, cochlear implants bypass the damaged hair cells of the inner ear ( cochlea) to provide sound signals to the brain". The operation is currently scheduled for 27 June 2017. Even thought the medical aid is covering a big portion of the cost she still has to pay R80 655 (The outstanding amount between the quote and the medical aid contribution + R10k hospital fee) - please see the attached documents

My cousin`s biggest wish is to be able to hear her children`s stories, how their day was and to appreciate the how`s and why`s.
