So, Pete Definitely Needs Your Help.

So folks. As much as it is hard, as much as I feel anxious, I need to do this. I need to ask for money. I've always been a proud person, liking to help others instead of being helped. But on the advice of some great and truly wonderful people, I've decided to stop being so damned proud and am asking for help.

I suppose some backstory is in order. This year has been rough for me so far. I had a lot of problems at stress at my job. I had a pretty bad accident in April that sent me to the hospital and left me on ice for a few weeks. Had about eleventy-trillion issues with various computers that left me with a ratty old Mac Mini that takes hours to load anything and dosen't let me do my job. With all that was going on, I dropped the ball on a bank problem and incurred a spectacularly huge fine. Because of all these stressful situations and a few accidents along the way, all the stuff just built up and made me have some severe health issues. I won't get into the specifics of them, but it's bad. I have to take a whole host of medication and have regular appointments with the physician.

So that's the backstory. That's what I'm facing. I just have so much going, so much pressure from all sides. I thought I could handle it all on my own, and paid for it with even more back luck. I need some help folks.

So, if you're gentle enough to give me anything (which is what'll take at this point), here's how I'm going to use it:

• I already have a good job that pays a nice amount of money. Not much, but it's enough to get by month to month. However, with all the added costs, I can pay the additional stuff AND the regular necessary stuff like rent, utilities and medication. So essentially, I'm going to use the money to pay off everything. If I can, I'll be set for next month and be able to pay things on my own. However, the many and various thing have a deadline to pay by the 14th. That's why the urgency.
• Any extra money will be donated to charity, to be picked. Probably will be a good, familiar one like the HALO Foundation or Doctors Without Borders.
• There's an electronics store here that has an old used Macbook laptop that's at a fairly cheap price. I'll trade in my old computer and some unused tech gear to get a discount on the laptop's price. It'll be the perfect thing for both professional and personal, since I can take it to work and all the work meetings, and use it at home for things.
• The rest of the money will be to pay for a few living costs like utilities for the month. While I could do the reverse and use the money to pay for the fine I incurred for the bank, I feel guilty about that. That's why I'll use my own salary to pay for the fine and some of the living costs, and pay the rest with the money folks so kindly helped out with.
