Targeted for being a Writer

I am asking for help on behalf on my friend who is facing a considerable number of challenges in her life at this present time.

I have known Laura for just over ten years and she is a kind, loyal and humble person who stands up for those who are not in a position to do it themselves.

Laura recently protested against House Bill HB51 in Georgia and as a result has been falsely charged with the same crime (harassment) in two counties. She has dedicated herself to causes such as those of sexual abuse survivors, LGBT and women and, as a writer, she was a target. Laura has written stories about corrupt law enforcement in the past and will be working on a book about her experience in due course.This has cut into her ability to earn a living as she has been harassed by this politician and his surrogate for the last two months now. These charges are politically motivated, especially being a writer (she was specifically told she was being charged due to her work when she was booked into the county jail) who seem to be a target in the current political climate.
