Many people are living abroad in Spain with Alzheimers and are suffering not knowing the language and not having their families around. The aim is to help these people and their families by collecting money to improve their quality of life in Spain. The Alzheimer Center in Spain is in great need of finacial help

Alzheimer's care center drags deficit and calls for help

The source of the deficit

In these facilities there are two main services, Stimulation Workshops and Day Stay Unit. Moreno explains that although the institution is private, the Junta de Andalucía has arranged 37 of the 40 seats of the Day Unit, which are offered under the Dependency Law. However, the Autonomous Administration only covers 23 places, allowing the center to temporarily occupy the remaining 14 with private users who pay a fixed monthly fee of 550 euros. The problem is that the cost of services is not covered with the cost of private places. "Ideally we would have the center with 37 public places full, but when the Unit is stopped these places are covered with private users and private entry for us is almost half, hence the deficit", says Moreno . "To eliminate it," he continues, "the easy thing would be to put the price of the square to the level that any other center of these characteristics has, but it is that the idea is not that, but to maintain the spirit of association and the only form of Doing so is having a little more institutional help. My name is John Carlmichael and I am raising money to help the AFA Center for Alzheimer´s patients in Spain. My goal is to improve their quality of life here in Spain by giving them a better care.
