You might not know me but you're probably familiar with my talking cats Jupiter, Kona and Griffin. If you don't know us, please check out one of our videos on our YouTube or Facebook pages:

I don't like asking for help. Especially monetary help because many of you have already been amazing helping two years ago with Jupiter. However, as most of you know, I am both a teacher and a student getting my PhD. I have a lot of loans for school. I am unfortunately still paying off the bills from Jupiter's surgery (which is sad because I ended up losing him) and am paying off Kona's recent emergency after which I lost him, too.

Now Griffin is recovering from a recent bladder emergency and we've just discovered he has a cystitis or cancer and needs the lump removed from his shoulder. The options were to send a slide in with the cells for review, take a biopsy to send in or to get the mass removed. Since the mass is giving Griffin pain, I chose to have the mass completely removed and then sent for cytology.

It is the right medical decision but I am just completely overwhelmed. If you are able to help every dollar matters and will help Griffin! The surgery is very expensive, as is the cytology. Hopefully they will not need to go deeper to remove whatever it ends up being. Griff will also need special bloodwork done and his heart will need to be monitored closely because of the murmur and regurgitation. He will then have an echocardiogram of his heart on April 13th. So, as you can see, the bills are already mounting and losing Griffin is not a thought I can even entertain, so every single dollar counts and each and every one is appreciated beyond what I can express.

Thank you so much for your donation - there is just one more thing we would like to ask of you. Please share this page! Share on Facebook, Twitter, via email, etc. because together we can make this happen! This money raised will be paying for Griffin's surgery and echo cardiogram. If anything above that amount is raised, it will go towards Kona and Jupiter's bills.

Thank you very much for your time and continued support with my cats.
When we began Talking Cats, I never expected it to become such a caring community of humans, but then humans who love animals are the very bestest ones of all! You are all amazing!

Echo Update

Update posted by Jullie Searfoss at 04:32 pm

Griffin's echo results are sort of what I was expecting, but not at all what I wanted to hear. Griffin has Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) which is the most common heart disease of cats, whether they are random bred or pedigreed. It is a heart muscle disease in which the papillary. . . . .

not good

Update posted by Jullie Searfoss at 02:14 pm

What this high level means: There is evidence of increased stretch and stress on the myocardium. Clinically significant heart disease is likely at this time. An echocardiogram is recommended for the diagnosis of heart disease. Evaluate for hyperthyroidism (if appropriate), systemic hypertension and renal disease.

  • I wish that I could send more, much more, but little by little things can get done. My heart just hurts for you. I know how it feels to loose cats in a short time. I lost all 3 of mine between May and July 4 years ago and I still feel the pain. You and Griffin will be in my prayers for sure.

  • Sorry for Griffin being sick. But I did'nt know that Kona was also gone. Those bladder stones are dangerous. Get a very good food from the vet. It might be a bit more expensive, but you would prevent an operation which is very expensive. My cat Rusty lived to 15.5 years but he never had bladder stones. I always got him food from the vet. Good luck !!!
