Help this ongoing fundraising campaign by making a donation and spreading the word.Life is hard for any poor child growing up in a developing country such as the Philippines. For a child with a cleft lip life can be almost unbearable. Many children will not go to school because of teasing and bullying and without an education their future is bleak.
One in three Filipinos live on less than two dollars a day, making the cost of surgery itself and the ancillary costs impossible to afford for poor families living far from the city. Abounding in Love finds children with cleft lip and cleft palate and then connects them with local doctors who give them an initial check-up.
Many of these children suffer from malnutrition or other complications so we provide them with the medicines and proper nutrition to get them healthy for surgery while making arrangements to facilitate surgery by our partners.
Abounding cares for the children and parents by providing:
- Caring, emotional, physical and spiritual support
- Transportation to Cebu City and back home
- A catered dinner with entertainment
- Hotel lodging, before and after surgery
- Meals, bottled water, whatever is needed
- Ancillary items such as diapers
- Age appropriate toys for the children
