Legal Defense Fund for Chanel Lewis

We have seen too many cases where the justice system has failed us, both as victims and perpetrators. In this case, we want to see justice for both parties. Chanel has been charged with 2nd Degree Murder in the case of Karina Vetrano. The NYPD claims to have multiple video recorded confessions from Chanel, DNA evidence, and more. We have seen cases like the Central Park Five where our people have been coerced into confessing crimes that they did not commit. We have seen evidence of crime labs manipulating results, police planting evidence, and other miscarriages of justice, especially when it comes to Black people. We say no more!

This is a call to action. We want to ensure that Mr. Lewis has the possibility of getting the best legal assistance he can. We've seen case after case where people accused of committing horrible acts against Black people receive funding to the tune of 100s of thousands of dollars. Some of them have even profited from the sale of items used in the commission of their crimes. We have to take a stand and support those of us who face the full power of a system that appears to be designed to railroad us right into the prison-industrial complex. Please give what you can and if you cannot help monetarily, please share this with everyone you're able. All too often the media controls the narrative and tries us in the court of public opinion before there's ever a trial. This man has already been labeled as a monster, like too many before him.
