Kevin, Cathy and their wonderful family suffered a great loss on February 6th when their home unexpectedly went up in flames. They were left with little more than the clothes on their back.

Sadly their cat Alley did not recover well and has since crossed Rainbow Bridge. Fortunately, no one else was injured.

Their house will take at least four months to fix and they are not certain whether they will be able to continue renting there. In addition to replacing furniture, clothing and other smoke-damaged items, they will also be looking for a new place to live.

After such a trauma, the family wants to remain all together - pets included - but finding a place that will take them and their animals is proving a challenge.

Anyone who knows Kevin and Cathy is familiar with their generous and community-minded spirit. Please help them through this difficult time as they rebuild their lives by contributing towards the cost of their temporary accommodations, new personal effects and veterinary bills.

From Cathy:As you know we had to sort through a lot of our stuff to see if there was anything we wanted to try and save. It was a gruelling process...but we did it. We were excited that we would have a few of the girls favourite clothes and other

Update - February 11th - A Note from Cathy & Kevin

Update posted by Caitlin Mayberry at 08:16 pm

From Cathy & Kevin:Today we have a mass sorting to do at the house. Stuff we want them to try hard to save, and the stuff we don't want them to waste time or insurance money on. We have not found a place to go yet. We will but it. . . . .
