Mollie's story

My treasured bitch Kimi had a litter of 5 beautiful Staffordshire Bull Terrier puppies on 16th March 2016. Both sire and dam are KC registered and had all the necessary health tests.

Unfortunately it wasn't an easy birth and Kimi required veterinary intervention. As a result two of the bitch puppies had difficulties and health problems.

I kept both of these puppies. Lexi had problems with her back legs and with walking but I've worked hard with her over the months with exercises, etc and she's now able to stand on her back legs a little and she can walk and run around like other pups her age.

Mollie had initial difficulties with feeding and was topped up with bottle feeds. She's had many 'infections' in her mouth and cheek since she was around 3 weeks old. She's had one antibiotic course after another and different treatments but the problem keeps recurring. The right hand side of her head hasn't developed properly and her eye is quite sunken on that side.

Despite all this Mollie is happy and playful. She is beautiful inside and out. She has the sweetest nature and is loving, affectionate, intelligent and obedient.

She's tenacious and has fought hard since birth to be here and despite constantly having to fight off mouth infections with horrible sores she has a real zest for life. In typical Stafford fashion, she doesn't complain or give into the pain and discomfort.

Mollie now needs to see a specialist at Liverpool University Hospital and to have an MRI scan.

Because the pups had these problems from a very young age I wasn't able to get them insured. Insurance companies denied cover for them both.

I've refused to give up on my puppy girls but I've used all my savings and maxed out my credit on vet bills. I now need a little financial help so Mollie can be seen and treated by specialists.

Please help me raise the funds to get Mollie a MRI scan at the vet hospital and a proper diagnosis so she can have the correct treatment and go on to enjoy a full and happy life with her mum Kimi and her sister Lexi.

Thank-you so much for reading Mollie's story.
