Unexpected Medical Bills for our Pet Dog Maliciously Attacked by Street Dogs

Our pet dog was one late night suddenly attacked maliciously and cruelly by two street dogs..

Our dog had just run out of the door for urinating in a garden area opposite our house ..

The attack was very vicious in that it tore apart its intestine and had serious injuries ..

At 5 AM we took it to a veterinary hospital .. That was 13th Dec ..

Today till 20th Dec it is still hospitalized there..

The medical bills have already reached Thai Baht 30,000 (roughly USD 800) and still counting ..

He is out of danger and slowly recovering ..

However, the huge and unexpected medical bill has dented our finances very badly .

In the first place, we never had any pets till about a year ago.. and did not have fancy for dogs ..

We saw this dog at a food stall in the nearby market looking for attention, love and food..

The food vendor told us that the dog was apparently abandoned by its owner or jumped out of the owner's car .. Its inviting eyes and melted our hearts and we instantly decided to bring it home..

Slowly we developed bonding and love for the dog and took good care of it..

Until this attack happened and left us in tears..

We thank God for giving a slow and steady recovery to it but having been setback by almost a US Dollar 1,000 is too big a dent on our pockets .. we are an ordinary family in Thailand with meagre reserves for such exigencies.. We have borrowed from family members to meet the high medical expense ..
