Campaign Story
Hi, I'm Stanley.
I'm 4 years old, I live with my mummy, daddy and little sister Scarlett (Lala to me!)
The day after my 1st birthday I was seen by some doctors and told I had Spastic Diplegia Cerebral Palsy. 2 weeks after that I had an MRI which showed I really have a condition called Semi Lobar Holoprosencephaly. This all means that my legs are really stiff so I can't crawl, walk or stand by myself. I find sitting unaided really tricky and tend to fall over. I struggle with everyday play that most other children find really easy. I can't use my hands together easily and need help with a lot of things. I can understand a lot that people say but am still learning the words to respond so I'm not the best at talking, yet.
That's all the stuff I can't do or find hard, now for what I'm good at. I'm getting better and better at getting around in my wheelchair. I go to my local school and have loads of friends that all help me when I struggle with things. I'm learning to hold a pencil so I can practice writing and I'm learning to read. I love vehicles, especially watching the Formula 1 racing with my daddy.
What I would love to do is learn to get around a bit more by myself. This will take a lot of time and hard work though. One thing I want to do is go to a centre where I can have intensive therapy. My aim to start with is to be able to sit up from lying on the floor and to try and learn to crawl.
To do this I need the support of all my friends and family. I would love it if you could help me by donating whatever you can, no matter how small, so my mummy and daddy can take me to a centre for therapy.
We will be be doing some fundraising where we live as well and will keep you updated in what we are doing so you can support me in person if you like.
Thank you in advance, there's a high five waiting if/when I get to meet you.
