Lend a hand for Zephy – 2 year old with Acute Leukemia (ALL)

My sweet and lovely little cousin is in need of any financial support you can offer. All donations will go to and support her on-going medication and hospital bills. Her name is Zephaniah Castro and we used to call her 'Zephy' or 'Pan Pan'. She's just turning 2 years old this coming October. She's a very sweet and playful child.

Just last month (August 2016), we've noticed that she becomes irritant with random things, like her milk bottle, her toys, she doesn't want to sleep in her bed anymore like what she used to and only wants to be carried on her mother's arms when she's sleepy, stuff like those. By mid august, she did have a limp on her right leg/foot wasn't able to walk for couple days. X-ray results shows no sign of broken bones or damage muscles or whatsoever and we've just let that pass and ignore it since she was able to walk again after 3 days of taking meds. We were truly unaware that it's already one of the symptoms of her real illness.

The past week until Tuesday this week (Aug. 30, 2016), she did have an on and off fever and was complaining that her tummy aches. Later that day we've notice that her stomach becomes so bulgy and has resistance when you try to touch it. So the next day, wednesday morning (August 31, 2016), her mother and one of may aunt did bring her to the child clinic / pedia for checkup, and to their shock, the pedia/doctor said that she needs to be rushed and admitted to a hospital already because her hemoglobin level and platelet count drops drastically and part of her liver is already swelling. She was indeed rushed to the emergency room for blood and platelet transfusion.

After all the lab test and initial results, the doctor diagnosed her with 'Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia' or 'ALL'. This is a type of Leukemia which is common on children between ages 2 - 8 years old. She undergo a bonemarrow test, and her blood sample results shows that there is already a great amount of abnormal cells building up in her system produced by the bonemarrow itself.

She needs to undergo a chemotherapy as her treatment and medication. The whole program is estimated to run 2 - 3 years, depending on the child's physical response to the whole process. She will be closely monitored and supervised because this will be very hard for her and the family specially the first phase or starting months of chemo. We truly believe that she will be healed and be made well by God's love and grace. We will support her in whatever ways that we can and so, we are also asking for for your help and support.
