Fight for Baby Chloe

Baby Chloe was confined last June 9 and up to now doctors cannot diagnose her disease. Her liver and spleen are already affected, she's starting to lose weight and her eyes and entire body are already turning yellow (jaundice).

We were advised to do a biopsy just to have a hint of the possible cause and illness, unfortunately her liver is no longer functioning well. She was given oral Vitamin K to correct her Protime count, but it didn't work. This is the main reason why we can't go through the biopsy since it can cause internal bleeding if the Protime count is low.

The doctor's initial assessment is Alpha 1-Antitrypsin Deficiency which is a rare case, no cure for the illness except for a liver transplant.

We seeked help from the National University Hospital in Singapore, one of the few and best hospitals abroad that has the capability to diagnose such illness. We sent them the medical records of Chloe and they gave us the lists of tests that they want to do for her. The specialist who checked Chloe is the only Pedia-Hepatologist in the Philippines, however we are still trying to seek opinions from other Pedia specialists in hope of finding the answer to her illness.

However, after a number of check ups, the liver specialist already told us that Chloe must undergo Liver Transplant as soon as possible because her liver is already failing. Our daughter is only 8 months old and as much as possible we wish to have her treated at the soonest possible time. No parent would want to hear the word "transplant" especially on a 8-month old baby. But if that is the only option we have then we will do all that we can just to have our daughter healthy again. Estimate cost for the transplant is 4 million pesos if done in Taiwan, which is cheapest alternative. We are praying that God will provide for our daughter's needs and we are soliciting financial assistance and help from every agency that we can think of. We would like to ask for your assistance.
