Lyme patient in urgent need of funding to stay in car and alive

A very warm hello. Blessings to you and to all of yours. Thank you for visiting. My name is Keya. Please open your heart and help save my life. Here is what has happened, and an introduction to me. This can happen to anyone.

I am reaching out to you as I have Lyme disease and it's co-infections, making me unemployable. Lyme is a miserable nightmare of a disease. Paying out of pocket for two mandatory Lyme related oral surgeries not long ago which are never covered by insurance and included the cost of full anesthesia, has left me homeless living in my car. My entire immediate family has passed away.

Before my life came to this I was called on to be the sole familial caregiver to both of my elderly parents for more than a decade until their deaths recently, as my sister had passed away. I also oversaw the care and paid finances for a wonderful elderly paraplegic uncle. With no parents or siblings I also have no nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, living children, grandchildren....

Taking care of my parents was a choice and I feel blessed that I was given the opportunity to do that. Every day I try to help bring love, joy and support to those who are in my life and into the world.

Just so you know, I am a longtime environmental and Indigenous rights activist and continue to be very much so. I recently voluntarily coordinated a large, multi organization specific highly endangered porpoise conservation effort now underway. I enjoy Ceremonies with sage. I am a past business owner designing and fabricating fine gold and cloisonné' one of a kind jewelry and I am a gemologist. Love music, life, film, the Creator, dance, organic gardening, art, beauty in all it's forms. I have good skills, education and a strong work ethic, I have worked hard however.............

My resources are gone, I have very little money to my name. I have no income due to illness and Social Security has not worked out. Social services here are exceedingly limited. I have availed myself of what little there is, consisting of $194/mo in food stamps, MediCal that does not cover my Lyme treatment at all, and a lifeline cell phone that was canceled due to a clerical error leaving me with a $40.00/mo cell bill I cannot afford. I must stay within a very restricted natural diet or else, hence I'm not eligible for soup kitchens or pantry aid at all. I don't dine out. Food stamps last less than 3 weeks out of the month. I am extremely frugal, a for instance is that I love fresh brewed organic coffee in the mornings but drink only organic instant coffee, as the price of fresh brewed is too much.

Donations have kept me afloat, after calling every place of worship in the Los Angeles for the past 2.5 years there is no one left to turn to. As such I am in immediate peril of not surviving, I have nothing to fall back on, no where to turn, should my 16 year old car break down leaving me 60ish and on foot, I am dead. Lyme related immune system limitations prevent me from even stepping into a shelter, mold hypersensitivities prevent me from staying in or entering invited friend's homes. My car, now my home is in urgent need of several repairs. My insurance is due and just about to lapse. That is life-threatening to me.. I am in dire need of the supplements needed to stay alive. Medi-cal does not cover that.

I am exceedingly health conscientious and disciplined. My life saving Lyme medicine rx needed daily, is also not covered by insurance. I need funds to stay alive. Frugality is second nature to me and I have a background in business which helps me manage funds well.

This crowdfunding is to raise funds for the basic necessities of survival, food, urgent and vital auto expenses, and life saving medicine until things work out for me.
