Campaign Story
I am a 15 year old student attending GESS (German European School Singapore). Every year, the 10th Graders in GESS are part of a social project. For the second year running we are going to Cambodia on the 28th September 2016 for 10 days. During this time we will be working with the Tabitha Foundation and HUSK NGO. We are giving back to the community by building Houses for families living in rural Cambodia and giving the locals some Basic English Lessons. We will also be visiting some of the historic landmarks such as the Killing Fields and the S21 Toul Sleng Genocide Museum in Phnom Penh and a number of temples in Siem Reap. We will also having a Cambodian cooking lesson.
The Parents of the Students are paying for the flights to Cambodia, but each Student has to raise 350 Singapore Dollars to contribute towards the funds to buy materials for the House Building.
I intend to raise money by doing the following:
1. I bought a stack of the Crime Novel 'Inspector Singh Investigates: A deadly Cambodian Crime Spree' by Shamini flint. I really enjoyed reading this book because I got totally absorbed into the murder story that was unfolding in Cambodia. I am selling these books signed by the Author for 20 Singapore Dollars.
2. I am growing Papaya trees from Seeds over my summer holidays and hope to sell them here in Singapore once they have reached about 20cm in height.
3. I would be very grateful to receive donations through this site to help me reach my goal.
PS: Please do not be surprised if your payment goes to Feng Shui Focus, that is my mother's PayPal account.

Update posted by Matt Richardson at 01:23 pmLast Saturday both our Gr 10 classes were in charge of providing food at the GESS Welcome Fair. We organised a sausage sizzle with BBQ and home-made salads and we also had a crepe stand. Together, we managed to raise our first joint S$2,000 for our Cambodia trip. Now the race. . . . .
