Ib Fruergaard - Medical Expenses Fundraiser!
Ib was last year diagnosed with cancer and did 25 sessions of radiation and 28 sessions of chemo therapy. After the succesful treatment he developed lymph growth in his vocal box and decided to have an operation at Manila Doctors Hospital. Unfortunately, there were complications and although he is now recovering he has lost his voice and is in currently in ICU. He is unable to meet his medical expenses and he and his family have reached out to me to organise a fundraiser to help him.
This is a chance to pay back! Ib has played a defining role in my life and I suspect in yours, too. He saw the potential in people and was not afraid to stand by his convictions, sometimes to the detriment to his own credibility. My life has been very different and a lot more fulfilling than it would have been had I not met Ib. If you also remember Ib as a key facilitator for your luck in life, then this is a chance to make a difference in Ib's life and in that of his young family.
The goal is to reach at least US$ 40,000 to pay for Ib's medical expenses (close to US$ 30,000 in itself) and to see him back at "the farm" in Bohol with a little bit to spare. I am sure we are many who want to help but do consider making a real difference; otherwise we won't get there. I do understand that we are all different so do what is appropriate for YOU!
I am going to make my PayPal account available for collection of funds and any amount paid there will go directly without deductions (except for PayPal and GoGetFunding fees) to Ib and his family. If you prefer to pay another way I will be happy to provide you with the HSBC account number in the Philippines where money can be paid directly, too. You can email me on [email protected].
This is urgent! Ib needs us to rally around a speedy fundraiser and I have left 7 days for this. The campaign starts immediately and ends Wednesday 15 June 2016.
Please share with as many people as possible - especially if you know they were also touched deeply by Ib's colourful and impactful character.

Ib can only walk about 8 meters without assistance but he is improving and as the fighter he is he will never give up... I am sure he will sure be mobile

He looks much better, can speak/whisper a bit and he is expecting to get discharged Saturday, after which he will likely spend a week at at a local hospital in Bohol for observation before he can finally reunite with family and farm animals! Progress!
Update posted by Bjorn Hojgaard at 09:33 amHappy to report the huge progress, firstly in Ib's condition: he is now off the ventilator and should be out of ICU tomorrow or the day after. And secondly in the fantastic support - we are well on our way to reach the goal. It's been heart warming to note. . . . .
