I am asking for help for this couple, as I am not sure how they can cope any longer with their circumstances. I run a local assistance service for the homeless in Salisbury, Wiltshire and that's how I found Janusz and Agnes, it's called The Full Bellies Project. It's early days for the project and we have no direct funds that we can access as of yet, but that doesn't stop us from moving all the stars to assist those who need us. The couple below are the ones who need your help, and please believe me when I say I truly believe this to be the worst case I have seen.
Janusz and Agnes have lived in the UK for 11 years, and were happily working here until Janusz suffered a serious inguinal hernia this was subsequently fixed, and he went back to work to then suffer another which is not uncommon. This time its very large and painful, which makes it hard to walk. They found themselves homeless after a chain of events that would of knocked anyone off their feet, so for a little over 3 years have been homeless. Janusz has been refused his operation at present to fix the very large hernia as he lives on the streets. This is because of the recovery time after the operation would mean bed rest, and when you are homeless you are constantly on your feet. I have followed all the usual avenues to get a person assistance when they are homeless but sadly due to failing a test they are unable to receive benefits, this we are appealing.
I have spent a solid week with this couple trying everything to get them help, even placing them for 5 nights in temporary accommodation whilst I tried to fix everything for them, but this is going to take time. Something I feel this couple are running out of. Watching someone doubled up in pain in the street and knowing they have nowhere safe to go is heartbreaking and this is why I am appealing to you for help. No matter how small the donation is, it will all add up and assist to getting them somewhere safe, so he can rest, or if he goes into hospital through a medical emergency Agnes will be safe.
I am asking if you would donate to this couple please so I can then place them in temporary accommodation, so Janusz is not in screaming pain anymore, I wouldn't be able to cope out there with this condition and I have personally lived on the streets, it's hard. My heart is breaking for this couple, who if you met them you would love, as they are so funny and kind in nature.
His GP has written to the hospital to see if the operation can be done whilst he is homeless, as previously it has been refused. The problem is he will only be in hospital for 24 hours, and will need rest for 2 weeks after. Janusz is also very frightened about leaving his wife and going into hospital, as Agnes would be alone out there and life on the streets can be quite volatile at times. This is why I really do need to raise funds for them to reassure them everything will be fine.
In all my years of assisting people I have never come across such a heart breaking case.
All he wants is his life back and to be able to work again, with a little help from us all and departments then coming together, they will be much closer to their goal. Which will mean eventually leading to a more permanent residence, and Janusz getting back to work which he loves.
I fear if nothing is done then his condition could lead to a medical emergency, with Agnes being left on her own out on the streets. If they had a temporary residence they both have a better chance of getting their lives back.
I have several places I can send them, one particular would love to have them back as the hotel think they are an adorable couple. This cost £55 a night and comes with meals.

GREAT NEWS :)
Update posted by Jessica McCarnun at 09:09 pmToday has been a big day for Janusz and his wife. I met them both and assisted them with an appointment at the Doctors. After explaining that all of us together have raised nearly £2000 for them to be placed in a hotel so they are safe, something amazing happened.. . . . .
