Love has him broken

I am the grandmother of a 22 yr old grandson. He recently lost his first love after they lived together over a year. He had just given her a ring before Christmas and she left about 2 weeks later. He has found that she has been cheating, she has even sent him pictures of her with another guy. This has torn the family up because he is so depressed that he lost his job due to not being able to handle the situation. He is now trying to find a job, which is very difficult in out area. He is trying to keep his apartment, which he had the money to do this month only. I am asking for help because I remember being in this situation, he is just so sensitive and too good, it breaks my heart to see him this way, knowing I can't fix it. Won't you please help us?
