Edit: it's with a heavy heart to let you guys know esti passed away today. She went in for an xray after her breathing became erratic. Her heart stopped during the xray.

Hello
I'm going to speak about a recent event that has occured, but I wish to tell Esti's and our story first.

I'm Marni, I live in Australia with my Fiance. I have a kitty named Esti, she was adopted from QLD RSPCA in March 2010. Esti being born with many health problems, she has powered her way through life like a pro, but only recently she has encounted the worst by far, Hepatic lipidosis.

Esti is not a fat cat, she is plump and floofy, the vet even said she wasnt obese but at a normal size. But last week she was dropping her weight rather quickly. She stopped eating for two days at most, which worried my fiance and I to bits since she refused all food we gave her/force fed. After waking up the next morning she was sitting on the floor, her breathing eratic and tongue hanging out. I quickly got out of bed and got dressed, told my fiance to get ready since we are going to the vet NOW.

On the way, she slowly started to turn yellow and when we got to the vet, he noticed the tinge as well. They swiftly took her away and put her on fluids, took blood and told us to go home after paying a deposit for the fee's. She was going to stay there for 3 half days, we rang every 5 hours for an update. The bloods came back with high liver enzymes, so they took more blood and sent it to an outer lab.

The ultrasound came back with no real issue, her liver is fine besides the fat deposits. They decided to put a feeding tube in saturday night ( she really needed it in earlier), and next morning she suddenly had a fever. We havent heard anything back about the x-ray, or lab results, we were told Hepatic lipidosis comes secondary to another problem, yet we have yet to hear what it could be.

We have been ringing everyday checking in on our baby girl, hoping for progress. This morning we were told she improved slightly but will need another few days till they think she is in stable condition. We visited her yesterday, she has a rather large neck wrap for the tube, and she puked after 5 minutes of the visit. She looked so happy to see us, she got up and moved compared to her sleeping like she has been.

So far we have spent 1200 on treatment, but we wont be able to pay rent or more treatment in the two weeks to come.

This Gofundme is for Esti, so she can survive this ordeal.
Why this means so much to me?
Because you will be saving a life, my babies life.
I lost the life of my last kitty Angel when I was 15, she died from feline leukemia. I can't stand to lose my babies life again.

Our tiny little family doesnt have much, except our eternal gratitude for you in saving our darlings life.

This just isnt our month

Update posted by Marni Corling at 03:34 am

So yeah, with all that's going on, we had a gang try to break into our home last night when I was here by myself. First they shut off the power and kicked the door, apparently accusing my partner and I of stealing car parts and their money??? We don't. . . . .
