Making Mudpies…..Bringing Ceramics classes to The Art Academy of Colorado

The Art Academy of Colorado is excited to be adding another form of artistic expression to the classes we offer to Brighton, CO and its surrounding communities. We are starting up a Ceramics Program which will allow potters of all skill levels, from first-time explorers to potters that have years of experience, a place to come and join us on the adventure that is the amazing world of Ceramics. We will have classes for hand-building, throwing, and even some introductory level sculpting.

In order to offer this to our community, we need to raise much-needed capital for equipment - wheels, kilns, glazes, clay, equipment and supplies are pretty pricey.

Currently, thanks to the generosity of many people in our community, we have a lot of the things we need to get started. However, we are in dire need of an electric wheel or two, some wiring work that needs to be done to accommodate the larger kiln, storage that needs to be installed within the studio itself, and other equipment and supplies that add up in price quickly.

Many of us (myself included) need to watch our finances closely. Please know that even a few dollars goes a long way to our cause. We will be giving away several items (based on the donation amount and availability of the pieces) to many of our benefactors as an expression of our gratitude. Please see the pictures above of several of these items. Whether you choose to follow us to watch our progress, or choose to donate $5 or $500, we deeply appreciate each and every one of you.

Please feel free to stop by Main Street Creatives located at 36 South Main Street in Brighton, CO to see our studio. You may even get a chance to chat with some artists and see some great art work while you are there :) We are open from 10A - 4P Mon-Fri and from 11A - 3P Saturday.
