Innovative teaching material for Bookbridge learning center Takeo

Dear all,

I am currently staying in Cambodia due to my fellowship for an organization called Bookbridge since the beginning of November, 2015. I will stay here for another 3 months until May 2016, and during that time I would like to further help improving the quality of english courses and free workshops at my learning center in Takeo.

Bookbridge is an organization that sets up learning centers as social businesses in Cambodia, Mongolia and Sri Lanka. These learning centers provide quality English education, IT-Courses and library with books in English and the local language. Currently, my learning center offers 8 english courses and free learning activities at the library. I’m working on opening extra courses in music and sports as well.

I want to make a sustainable impact beyond my 6 months stay at this learning center. So far, I experienced which things worked and didn't work in the past, and I became aware of the needs at this learning center.

The money will be used for purchasing a LCD-projector, which was often requested by teachers and students, in order to conduct quality workshops and presentation slides on topics that are not taught at Cambodian public schools. With my experience from schools in Germany and Spain I can help them to sufficiently make use of a LCD-projector and to give students a quality education.

Furthermore, a part of the money will be used for buying a first-aid kit for the learning center as so far students wouldn't get medical treatment if an accident at the learning center happened.
