PLEASE HELP NOP BRUTALLY BEATEN NOW BLIND

Nop was brutally beaten across his eyes by an unknown attacker in the Temple grounds. Headrock Dogs Rescue in Thailand has been caring for Nop since he was abandoned in the Temple 8 years ago. We received an urgent call from the Abbot asking us to rush to the Temple to help Nop in his confusion and pain. During the 15 years we've been helping Thai dogs we've never seen such a horrific attack.

We believe Nop was beaten to kill and eat him. The Temple is often staked out by local Burmese known for eating dogs. The police have been notified and are investigating this appalling crime.

Emergency action was taken and within 20 minutes Nop was on the operating table at the vet's clinic having his right eye extracted. It wasn't an easy operation as so much damage had been done to the eye. We can't rely on the luxury on in-patient care as our vet doesn't have the facilities so we brought Nop to our rescue centre in a semi-conscious state and put him in a comfortable pen.

When he came round the poor dog was very confused and in pain. He'd been given pain killers and anti-biotic medication so we stayed to comfort him. Nop's remaining eye has also been badly damaged making the pupil dilated to the size of the eye which is fixed and staring unable to track anything. We are desperate to save Nop's eye. We rushed 100ks to a vet with good equipment but he didn't examine the eye only took a quick look and pronounced him blind.

Please help us pay Nop's medical expenses for his eye operation and for his ongoing treatment to help save his left eye and for his rehabilitation to learn to live with, hopefully, one eye. If the eye can't be saved then Nop will need to learn to live totally blind.

5 days have passed since the horrendous attack and Nop is slowly learning to live with one badly damaged eye which appears to give very limited vision. We dress his operation wound every day and use pain killers, anti-biotic drops and cream in his damaged eye. Nop is on a range of medication to help strengthen the optic nerve of his left eye and to help his brain. It's a miracle he's not brain damaged.

The thought of this happy bouncing affectionate dog having to live the rest of his life completely blind is too devastating. Our vet believes he has very limited sight in his left eye and is waiting for the swelling to go before he performs an examination. Please help us do everything we can to make Nop's future bright.
