Campaign Story
A great friend of ours Cael Quinn Fay is 7 years old and has spent the last few years raising money for the charity Orphfund. From donating his tooth-fairy and Christmas money to holding garage sales and birthday fundraisers, Cael has raised over $8000 for Orphfund this year. His goal is to reach $10,000 by Dec 31st 2015. You can see more about his journey here https://assets.gogetfunding.com/project/cqf-for-Orphfund or https://www.facebook.com/cqffororphund?fref=ts
Orphfund is an Australian based charity run by dedicated volunteers that raises money to help children that have been abandoned or orphaned in less fortunate countries. Much of this money goes to helping buy food, beds, clothing, building schools and providing other resources in many African countries such as Uganda & Sierra Leone. 100% of their donations will reach children living in poverty.
Drew and I would love to help Cael with his fundraising efforts and achieving his goal of $10,000 by asking for people to sponsor us on our hike of Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain in Africa.
Our hike begins on January 1st 2016 and we're aiming to complete the 7-day LeMosho Route, which travels 45km to the summit at 5,895m above sea-level and a descent of 20km back to base. Each day we will hike from 10-15km at altitude. On the final day we will start at 11:30pm and hike for 6-7hours in the dark to the summit, arriving at sunrise.
Climbing Mt Kilimanjaro has been a goal of mine since 2008 and we're so excited to be able to not only attempt climbing the tallest mountain in Africa but also to help Cael achieve his fundraising goal, which in turn will help many disadvantaged children living in poverty in African countries.
