Campaign Story
Baby Aspen has been diagnosed with CDH (Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia) and it requires long term NICU care. The doctors expect her to require 6 months, possibly more, in the Cincinnati Childrens NICU. She is currently awaiting corrective surgery. She is a true fighter and her parents are right by her side. However, it gets expensive to stay so far away from home. Travel expenses are piling up, and it looks as if they might be there up to a year. Update posted by Money Matters at 07:21 pm10-5Should be a pretty easy day ahead. Changing her dressing on her belly and pulling back her pic line in her right arm, it is in just a little too far. No planned weaning, just getting some rest. Yesterday she had a pretty good day with pain. They are pleased

Update posted by Money Matters at 12:33 pmAll tests are complete, now the doctors will be looking at them and deciding if she is ready for surgery his week. They are hopeful that she will be ready. They should let us know tomorrow. She is chunking right up. They have been giving her some very high calorie

God strengthening Aspen has allowed for doctors to see how CDH effects babies before surgery. How the lungs work, the placement of her organs, how the position of the intestines and liver effect the lungs. . . . .
