Campaign Story
The recital will be a site-specific dance narrative based on an original children’s story that begins with four kids playing bahay-bahayan. As play time progresses, their imagination transports them into another world of Forest guardians, magical monkeys and mystical creatures. Conflict will arise when each kid must face his/ her own monsters symbolizing significant struggles namely jealousy, fear and unresolved paternal relationship. The main concept of the story revolves around the duality of fantasy and reality as each kid’s way of coping in their own narration and personal obstacles.
The performance will be rendered in an interactive outdoor urban-contextualized kind of community storytelling accompanied by original live and recorded music. It will be on December 4-5, 2015 at the Old Camerata Garden of the College of Music, University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City.
