Chris BIBBY – Diagnosed with Chronic MS – Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge

Many of you will know Chris Bibby who is currently stationed at Longsight as an ISO. Chris has recently been diagnosed with chronic MS which is a debilitating, progressive condition which attacks the body's central nervous system and can manifest itself in many different ways. The news was a massive shock to Chris and his family, especially since he was so fit (after his diagnosis he still managed to do 80% of an iron man!). In the last few weeks Chris' condition has deteriorated; his mobility has been greatly reduced and he is also experiencing a lot of pain.

To try and cheer him up Chris' colleagues from Longsight IDU and the VERA unit at Nexus House are going to attempt to complete the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge on the 30th September 2015. This 24 mile walk is the route of the original fell marathon and has previously featured as in training special forces - so should represent a decent challenge! Follow the link above and please give generously if you can; we are hoping to raise money for Chris and his wife Katie so they can take their 3yr old daughter on holiday or plan something else nice together as a family.
