Campaign Story
Meet Sam, our brave labrador. Getting Sam was one of the greatest things that ever happened to our family. We got him when he was just a 9 weeks old puppy and he has grown up alongside us all.
He has been a best friend and loyal companion to us all. From climbing Ben Nevis, to walking the West Highland Way, or bounding across the sandy beaches in Gairloch, Sam has had an adventurous life, and has brought so much happiness and fulfilment into ours. No matter what Sam will always be at our side.
Devastatingly, Sam has just been diagnosed with cancer (oral fibrosarcoma), in his upper jaw. The vets at The Royal (Dick) School of Veterninary Studies have been fantastic, and believe that they can offer Sam life saving surgery followed by radiation, which would prolong his life by a possible 18 months. The cost of this will be up to £8,000 - money we simply don't have access to, but we are going to work hard at great lengths to find.
Sam has brought such great joy and happiness in to our lives and if there is any way you can support his life saving treatment, it would mean the world to us. The hardest thing of all would be to watch Sam die at only 7 years old, knowing that if we had the finance he has the chance to live. We are determined and will not give up until we have found finance to support Sam.
After all he has given to us in his lifetime, we owe him this one.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
The Musa and Connell family.

Another trip to hospital
Update posted by Lesley Musa at 04:50 pmToday Sam was back at the hospital for a CT Scan. I could not believe how excited he was to be back - he practically pulled me off my feet to get in through the door! It was so reassuring as I had been expecting the opposite. He is lapping. . . . .
One month on from surgery
Update posted by Lesley Musa at 05:59 pmOne month on from surgery, Sam is thriving, I am sure his tale wags even faster and he is enjoying life to the full. He is fed a better diet than us now and is truly cherished. The oncologist phoned us with the results on Friday evening and confirmed that. . . . .
Recovering well!
Update posted by Lesley Musa at 04:54 pm12 days after his operation, Sam is progressing really well. he has started to play more and to mouth and we let him have one plastic toy back tonight - he hasn't been allowed any while his jaw is healing. He is squeaking away joyfully with it just now! He. . . . .
Back Home!
Update posted by Lesley Musa at 01:13 pmSam was allowed home today, after having part of his upper jaw removed to get rid of the tumour. Once his wound has healed he will have to undergo intensive radiation therapy to make sure the tumour doesn't grow back. Please help us give Sam the treatment he needs to
