Omega Welfare Organization

History The acronym (AOWO) Stands for “Alpha Omega Welfare Organization. It is a social welfare organization, which has come into existence in April 2009, Originally; it was small village society Friendship foundation in District Abbottabad, organized by a group of young people mostly Social worker, teachers and others experts. This group used to donate a small amount from their pocket money for the welfare of poor community. Small medical camps were arranged for providing free check up & medicine to the deserving members of the deprived community with their meager amount. Besides this, financial assistance of farmers, Widows and Destitute for purchasing Cattle, Seeds, Fertilizers and other necessities were also included in welfare activities of the groups. The group was running several societies of the poor in rural areas of District Abbottabad. Numerous poor families have been self-employed by the group in this way. It was a great challenge for AOWO to handle the task accurately. Having a long discussion resultantly they reached the root problem of failure and find out the solution. Reason was that the community was not united, not organized, mobilizes and were not trained. For this purpose AOWO was decided to establish an organization of different persons without any status, cost, rich, poor and specific location.  After that a common meeting of these persons form different ports of province was called in this meeting an organization was established with the name as welfare organization. During this meeting members of executive body were elected and also members of general body. Main objective was to sensitize, mobilize and organize comminutes especially rural for the better performance of development and welfare activities in District Abbottabad. So a meeting was held and board of Governor and executive body members were elected properly and prepared documents for Registration and registered from joint stock companies Peshawar by the name “Alpha Omega Welfare Organization” under the law societies Registration act 1860 in the year 2009.   Vision Our vision is peaceful and prosperous society based on social justice, equity and equality. AOWO as a welfare organization has a vision of making Pakistan a great country to live in, where even person has means to feed his family, kids has a right to education, every patient has resources to get treatment. We have and endeavour for a society whose key characteristic is patience and tolerance, something badly needed. AOWO is committed to creating a better Pakistan by preventing the suffering caused by blindness and other eye ailments. To this end it will provide state of the art comprehensive free eye-care in keeping with its tradition of excellence, efficiency and compassion for all. We pledge to serve Pakistan and nurture good human beings.   Mission AOWO seeks the alleviation of suffering through health projects that enhance local capacities and promote community-based, self-help solutions, guided by the aspirations of its beneficiaries. AOWO embodies positive values inherent in suffering, namely individualism, courage, dynamism, and adaptability, and seeks to harness these attributes in implementing projects with measurable results. AOWO believes that development should be sustainable and encompass the social, spiritual, cultural, and economic well being of its beneficiaries. AOWO believes that the ultimate test of development policy is its long-term effect on the most vulnerable sectors of society, particularly women and children. To this end, AOWO values and supports the central role of women in development. AOWO is a grass-root organization that recognizes that its strength lies in the strong participation of its members. AOWO recognizes the value of an involved membership and seeks to encourage that involvement with accurate and transparent communication. AOWO believes that in all promotional activity, members should ensure that the dignity of beneficiaries is recognized and advanced. AOWO recognizes and values the professionalism, skills, and experience of our staff and their contributions to institutional learning and development.
