My hometown Königstein (alongside many other cities & villages in Saxony including the beautiful capital Dresden) has been badly flooded once more including my own house. This comes not long after the devastating 2002 flood, which already required a lot of dedication to restore the homes of many families and repair infrastructure (a process that seemingly only finished just recently). With this fundraising, which will be handed to the City of Königstein, I want to help the reconstruction.

Update posted by Ronny Rehn at 07:12 amFriday i arrived and literally had to take a boat to reach the entrance. Ground floor was still well flooded.
Peak water levels have been reached
Update posted by Ronny Rehn at 09:31 amThis is the water level as measured in Schoena (near Koenigstein). Looks like peak levels have passed and by now also Koenigstein. So my visit over the coming days will be just in time to clean up the mess that our beloved river Elbe has left behind.
