I want to travel from Harrisburg, PA to Galway, Ireland from May 25 - June 1, 2013 with a Harrisburg Area Community College class ART208 Advanced Digital Photography.
But I will need $1500.00 to finish paying for the trip or I cannot go!
This trip will change my life! I've been a homebody for 17 years and never thought something like this would come my way. This has been missing from my life for so long; adventure, wonder and travel. I have been clinically depressed for 15 years of my life so far. There has been no spark or interest in almost anything. But this year I decided to take an Intro to Digital Photography course at Harrisburg Area Community College. And BAM! SPARK! This has been what is missing from my life! I thought I wouldn't know happiness when I found it (being in perpetual sadness half of my life). But I found it! I borrowed a digital SLR camera and have been taking photographs ever since.
To me this is a once in a lifetime journey! I never before dreamed I could do it but now I dream about it daily. My fellow journeyers and I will be taking photographs in and around Galway, Ireland. I have the tuition taken care of but need some assistance with the remainder of the program fee.. My end project will be producing a photographic book which I have temporarily titled "A Journey to Galway". I will journal, photograph and video my daily exploits and surroundings, marveling in the location and the local people.
Another reason that I want to go on this amazing journey is to leave a legacy. I have 2 beautiful nieces, one just born April 7th. I want to give them something back for the joy they have given me. I want them to know to always follow their dreams no matter what and I want to lead by example. I do this for them and everyone who never thought an adventure would ever come to them!

Thank you so much! I know how hard it is to have money to even pay for the basics of life. Every bit will be put to good use and I will definitely post all of my pictures on my web site for everyone to see.

Jennifer, I, too, have battled depression. It can strangle a life. I'm so very glad you have this opportunity. I hope you blossom and bend toward the sun. People can get better and heal from depression. I know. I did. Much love, Aunt Marjorie PS- I wish I could give more.
