A Pound for A Pound

There are thousands of dogs living on the streets in Romania. These dogs are often attacked, abused or killed - treated as vermin. A Googe image search for 'Romanian Dogs' will give you an idea of the conditions some of these dogs are trying to survive in, but do not look if you are easily upset or if you are under the age of 18. Some of these images are very distressing.

ROLDA (the Romanian League for the Defence of Animals) is a Romanian regsitered charity based in the district of Galati. ROLDA UK is a UK-based entity with the aims of helping the animal shelters in Romania by donating time, money and food/toys as well as adopting and fostering those animals which are desperate to be rehomed. ROLDA is a public charity, funded exclusively from donations, sponsorships and grants.

To raise money for this charity, to help rescue these poor animals, and to keep myself motivated, I am undertaking a sponsored diet, with the hope that if I can raise a pound for every pound in weight I lose, it can be donated to rescue and help these dogs in the streets and pounds. A Pound for a Pound for the Pound?

The diet starts on 25th February 2013, and I will give myself 3 months to raise as much money as possible. 

Gogetfunding charges a 4% comission on all donations, so I will cover this charge myself which means all donations will go straight to ROLDA at the end of the fundraising period.

Please give what you can and I promise not to eat too much chocolate!
