Senior Project

Hi everyone!

My name is Makayla, and I am a Senior in High School. To graduate from our high school every senior must complete a state mandatory Senior Project ( a project that gives students the chance to combine their knowledge and skills from various disciplines and to share them with their peers, educators, and the community. Students select a topic of interest to them and gather a knowledge base by researching and writing a documented research paper related to the chosen topic. Students then complete a physical project, which demonstrates application of some aspect of their research. This project must involve significant learning. The last facet of this learning journey is to give a formalized speech in front of a team of adults who have an interest in and an understanding of the subject area. This speech will tie together the formal research and the physical project ). My project is to make a Cosplay outfit of Phantom Assassin ( shown below ) and wear it to the 2014  Comic-con. While there I will enter a competition that will be seen by many people.

I will have to sew fabrics, mold plastics, and face my fear of being on stage all within this next year. Creating a theater quality costume, as the one I plan to create, requires an extreme amount of money for materials. This includes: Fiberglass Resin, spandex, liquid laytex, spraypaint, etc. The amounts fundraised would also go toward the trip to comic-con, the stay/transportaion. With college on the horizen, and being a middle-class family living paycheck to paycheck, these funds are not available. I'm nearly a straight 'A' student (I'll have a 'B' every once in a while) and I'm not a partyer/druggie. I'm just a person who has a love for creativity, without the recources. 

I'd be so thankful to even raise $10, if that's what it where come to. The smallest amount to fundraise this project would be so helpful, Thank you ALL in advance for making this dream become a reality. :)
