We are a family of five who really could use some financial help to overcome the monetary drain of helping our little girl fight so she can have a brighter, pain free future. This is not an easy thing to ask for and her story isn't over.  Caitlin is an 11 y/o girl who has had more than her fair share of pain and suffering. She developed Scoliosis just after 3 years old. The Scoliosis was progressive and her curve was between her shoulder blades, curving into the left side of her body. For some reason her spine also twisted in the same area which just complicated the problem. Caitlin spent many years wearing a corrective body brace to stabilize her spine with the expectation of surgery in her teens. Due to the location of spine and the amount of pressure in placed on her left lung she became more susceptible to lung complications including repeat episodes of Pneumonia, Bronchitis and Asthma. She has had severe eye allergies, severe Eczema on over 25% of her body at a time, along with all the normal colds and things that kids get. She has battled her whole life so far to overcome one problem after another, without giving up and still trying to be a child. On February 8th at A.I. Dupont Hospital our little girl finally had Spinal Fusion Surgery and two "rods" implanted to correct her three curves, one of which was about 62 degrees off center. She is now having other complications like joint inflammation and general pain. She has many smaller problems that we just deal with as we can because we always have a bigger issue to battle. Caitlin's health along with having two other children and life in general has been very draining, emotionally and financially.  We have already received many of the hospital bills that are not going to paid by insurance from the surgery and we still have outstanding bills from previous doctors and hospitals. Her surgery cost in excess of $280,000.00 so far. Our insurance company has approved about $200,000.00 worth so far and are still working with us to do the most they can. We have over $8000.00 in co-pays due so far just from the surgery. Any help that any of you could offer will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading our story and please keep Caitlin in your thoughts and prayers. "..and this too shall pass."
