The basis of this project is a local network. This will include 278 Flats.

We live in an area where all internet providers see's us as not important, further more the power company will not let us have optical even thou less than 50 meters away they have the fiber in the ground. They say some kind of deal with the company from where we rent our flats. But the company just shakes their heads and say we are free to get an optic if we just pay to have it installed. So to get a half decent connection and not be left behind there are very few options left.

So i got the idea of running an optic from building to building (12 in total) and then via a switch at each building share the connection. at one central spot a provider that only deal with busy type connection has said that they can deliver a 1 Gigabit connection. That connection would be connected to the former fiber over a router... in that way there is both a local network and internet... the internet would be much cheaper than any other connection we can get. We will have a much more powerfull posistion since we can make deals and say we are 278 people behind. And a local network can do much more, we can control solar cell installs from it. Should the need for some kind of CCTV be needed (in event of "punks" damage or stealing stuff or some that put our paper recycle bin on fire - that one holds 1 ton of paper) that can also be included.

Also to make this happen we need to dig a tube under the road between the buildings, they do that by firing a kind of rocket and then pull it back with a empty tube attaced, the rocket is driven by compressed air. In that tube the fiber is then installed... and then a trench arround all the buildings.

We plan to do a lot of the work ourselves, only the rocket part has to be done by an expert as we are not allowed to do anything under the road, nor have we the skilld

So far I have gathered the drawings that shows where water and electricity and sewage are in the ground. It seems that the sewage for rainwater can be used for the fiber backbone. They rund under the road and that will save both money and time, just have to wait
