This fund is designed to support the Anti Badger Cull campaign in Gloucestershire in 2015, in the likely event of the Badger Cull being rolled out for a 3rd successive year.

The return of this brutal Tory Government, still intent on the flagrant persecution of Badgers under the name of bTB prevention is no less than a wildlife crime. We anticipate that once again badgers will be cage trapped and shot. Often sitting in cold/wet conditions for nearly 24 hours before they are callously killed.

The money raised from this fund will enable individuals and groups to travel to the zones and support their fuel or food costs. Many of these individuals will have been in the zones for 2 or more years already, sitting by setts, mapping setts, watching roads, helping keep the camps running, manning telephones, cooking and providing back up support. Lives are put on hold, families are disrupted and normal routine stops while they protect the badgers.

If you are unable to get out and do any of these things, then donate to this fund, help others to participate and directly save Badgers lives. If you can donate and participate, even better, as this year more than ever, the campaign needs more active participants. This is because the government is likely to roll out the cull to Dorset/Devon as well as Gloucestershire and Somerset.

There is no science to back up the cull. No independent monitoring, no justification for the relentless assault on a protected species. Be sure of one thing, the government, in hock to the farming community and the countryside alliance for the votes gained at the election will not let this policy slip. Badgers are political currency. Badgers will die painful deaths. Young cubs, some only 5/6months old will be shot as their mothers watch or vice versa. Culling does not discriminate between a healthy badger and one with bTB. They shoot, they incinerate and no tests are done to find out if a badger was infected or not. The Tories promised to kill them and kill them they will. We need your money and we need it now.

You can donate from as little as £1

Should the cull not take place in Gloucestershire, then any monies raised will be divided equally between the other cull zones in operation.

Please for the 3rd year of asking, help Save Our Badgers.

2105 Official Gloucester Fund to save badgers...

Update posted by A Badger at 04:51 pm

It seems that despite all protests/science and common sense that Natural England are going to allow free shooting of badgers again in Gloucestershire and Somerset, meaning badgers will often die painful deaths that take longer than the agreed humane 5 minutes to die.. please give generously to this fund to
