Van into motorhome conversion.

Hi everyone, we are Agnes and Jo - two friends who desperately want to travel but can't afford it. Flights, train and bus tickets, hotels - everything is mega expensive, and if you are on a low salary, it seems like your only option is to stay at home and watch National Geographic channel. But is it really?

One day we got an idea. Why don't we buy a small used van and convert it into a motorhome/camper?! :-) We would be able to go anywhere we can think of. We decided we would do the whole conversion ourselves. Yes, we are two girls with no experience in vans, but we are convinced we will succeed. We don't need anything extra fancy. Just a van with a space to sleep and store our clothes and things, plus running water and a fridge. We plan to travel around the UK first and if everything goes ok we would like to go to France and then to Spain.

We did some research to calculate the cost of our project and we need to raise £3000:

- £2200 small used van,

- £160 insulation,

- £100 plywood for floor and walls,

- £30 vinyl flooring,

- £70 self-made furniture,

- £50 tools and screws, pins etc.,

- £90 sleeping mattresses,

- £50 mini fridge,

- £70 spare battery,

- £40 light, wires, switches,

- £50 water containers, pipes etc.,

- £50 travel cooker and kitchen utensils,

- £40 travel heater.
