Maggie was recently diagnosed with a specific type of cancer that only occurs in children called Neuroblastoma, this is when cancer cells form in the nerve tissue of the adrenal gland, neck, chest, or spinal cord. This fun loving, intelligent and incredibly brave little girl has undergone various treatments in recent months, including chemotherapy, radiation therapy, bone marrow transplants and a stem cell transplant. The treatment has involved several trips to the Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto and Maggie and her family still have a very tough road ahead of them.

The family have remained positive throughout the process though and Doctors explain that, while there are no guarantees, the hope of her walking out of the hospital in a few years time, cancer free, is a very realistic goal. However they are upfront about the intensity of the upcoming years in terms of her treatment, and the emotional stress and financial strain it will place on the family.

"She May be Small, but She is Fierce!"

The generosity and kindness the Davis family have experienced so far has been truly humbling, and some friends in the UK would like to lend their additional support by embarking on a 5 day 500km charity bike ride from Liverpool to Dundee on the 18th-22nd March 2015. The route is significant as it starts in the city that Maggie's parents 1st met and ends where the friends taking on the challenge got to know her Father, almost 25 years ago!

We've set a goal of raising £1,000 to help her family, but we're confident with the goodwill and support we've received already that we might even be able to exceed that total and help to make a difference towards easing the burden on Maggie's family as they go through such tough times.

Any financial support you can offer - no matter how small - will be hugely appreciated by Maggie's family and help them to focus on being there to support their little girl on her road to recovery.
