Hi and thank you for reading

We are the family of a very polite 14 year old young man whom has been praised by his teachers and peers for 'being a credit', who in April 2013 was knocked down on a pedestrian crossing whilst out with his friends.

James' suffered a severe head injury and spent a week in intensive care fighting for his life. After 4 long months in hospital, James was transferred to a Rehabilitation Unit as he has sustained severe brain damage, where he recieved physiotherapy, speech and language and occupational therapy to help him regain the skills he has lost.

When arriving at the centre, James couldn't really move and was coming out of his 'coma' state. Now, he has taken steps whilst being supported, he used a communication writer to communicate, writes using a pen, cannot talk but vocalises with sounds, is practicing eating and sits up and can hold his head up unaided, along with many many other achievements! These are massive achievements and such hard work for him after everything he has been through. We are so so proud and he will continue to make amazing progress, as he has, to return to full ability as he was before his accident. It's a journey that will last many years, hence the reason for our fundraising as we would like to arrange extra treatments for him to aid his recovery such as physiotherapy, reflexology, occupational therapy, items to aid him such as trainers for walking, communication aids and the like. The funds are for no specific use, but are to be used for whatever James needs that will benefit him and aid in him making a better and quicker recovery, and to make it easy as possible for him.

Links below are from newspapers after his accident. James is the boy described as ‘fighting for his life’

UPDATE February: James is home from rehab!! :)

May 2014: James' morning daily routine is practising his walking in his walking frame, improves with that every day! He goes on his standing frame, he squats up the wall and beats the previous days amount! He has just started to practice walking up a step, he spends 15 minutes on a bike motion machine for his legs and then uses bundy cords to strengthen his arm muscles. He balances on a yoga ball to strengthen his core and has just started balancing whilst standing up..! He will be running rings around us in no time.. and we welcome it :) <3

Please donate generously and help make a difference to a young mans future!! ?
