Sophie is my extremely brave neice who has Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy and Scoliosis. Last year she underwent a massive spinal fusion operation. She is very poorly at the moment with Pnuemonia and has been in hospital for the last 4 weeks and it looks like we have a few weeks to go before she will be able to get home. Today she had a bad day and was moved back into the high dependancy ward. The family have had to fund the daily trips to the hospital and the very high parking charges themselves for the last 4 weeks so I am looking for any help to support them with the costs! So far we have spent out over £100 in Parking, £200 in Fuel and the NHS will only help with one the initial journey in and 1 days parking. Both her parents have their own health issues and require extra effort to make the daily trip in and out and spend all day caring for Sophie. The last fundraising I did was amazing and really well supported. The page had over 1200 visits and if each of the visits had a donation of just £1 it would have made a huge difference. Please help this family through their hard time.

Sophie Update
Update posted by Jane SearbyBates at 07:09 amSophie update. Sophie's doing ok. She's lost so much weight and is so weak and tired that we're really struggling to get anywhere near enough food so she is going to get a ngtube which goes into her tummy via her nose to enable us to boost her nutrition.
