Spaying Didim street dogs

In Didim, Turkey - we have a 'Neuter & Return' shelter now run by Aydin Council. However, the shelter is overflowing with unspayed/unneutered dogs, the vet employed to work there is rarely seen and the shelter has not been supplied with any drugs, so he could not operate, even if he wanted to. There are sick dogs/pups at the shelter and due to lack of care, many suffer a drawn out, pain-filled death if we are not allowed by the shelter staff to take them to a private vet to end their suffering. Trying to remove a dog from the shelter to help it, is full of red tape. This is a laughable situation bearing in mind that anyone can walk in, say they want to home a dog, and just walk out with it.
We are a group of volunteer dog walkers who care nothing for politics, but only for the welfare of the dogs incarcerated at the shelter and the ownerless dogs of Didim. We are all realistic, knowledgeable and compassionate dog lovers and of course, we do realise, we cannot save them all. This does not stop us trying.
My name is Val Whyte and I have been a volunteer at the shelter for the past 9 years. Myself and my fellow volunteers have helped find wonderful homes for many, many dogs and during this time, we have walked hundreds of dogs, we have raised funds for operations which the usual inexperienced and incompetent shelter vets are unable to treat, we have coaxed love and affection from timid and terrified dogs and given love and affection in return.
HOWEVER, since 15 September 2014 when Aydin council took control of the shelter from Didim council, we have come up against a mountain of red tape from the Shelter Manager, when trying to help the dogs. We have therefore decided to 'cut out the middle man' (i.e. the shelter) and raise funds to spay as many ownerless street bitches as we can. As a special discount for the volunteers, two of our local highly competent private Didim vets have agreed to help by charging only £50 per spay.
PLEASE HELP UP MAKE THIS TOWN BETTER FOR RESIDENTS AND HOLIDAYMAKERS AND OF COURSE FOR THE OWNERLESS DOGS THEMSELVES. Thank you.
