Raising Money to Volunteer as a Nurse in Uganda

For the people who dont know me well, I am currently studying Children's Nursing at University. I have a huge passion for caring for children and have extended my experience over the past 4 years caring for children in different settings with different levels of need. I have nursed children who are coming to the end of their life, those who have life limiting conditions that require 24 hour care, those with mental health problems and many other children who have inspired me to want to do more.

This summer I am going to Uganda to volunteer as a nurse at the International Hospital in Kampala. I will be working on the wards and in clinics with both very vulnerable children and adults  but to be able to do this I need to raise £1500 for help with travel and living costs! With your help I can provide a better quality of health service that these people deserve using my current knowledge and skills. 

I will also be doing sponsored and fundraising events to raise the money. My next crazy sponsored event which is coming up at the end of February, will be a 5 mile trail race which includes steep hills, water, mud and 40 (ish) obstacles without doing any previous training!!! 

Any amount of money you can donate, whether its small or big will be much appreciated and will be helping to make a difference!
