Campaign Story
Sponsored Bungee Jump the way4ward project is a project aimed at helping young care leavers, money raised will be spent on taking young adult from a leaving care background on a team building day, to help with social skills confidance building and self esteem building. Many young adults with a care leaving history leave care at the age of 18 with little if any support networks in place. There are currently 92000 young people in the care system today with over half of these young people being placed into the care system because of abuse are neglect ! All of which will eventually become care leavers let's give them a way4ward and give what you can to help achieve this goal. unlike the common media fuelled perception of these young people belonging to "hoodie" gangs, subject to anti socia behaviour and who are "terrorist" communities, the majority of children young people who are taken into care are actually there through no fault of there own. The office of National Sautistics (2005) found the reason behind such removal from families and the need for placement in public care are as follows : Abuse and Neglect (42%), Family Dysfunction (13%), Intense Family Stress (12%), Parental Illness (7%), Socially Unacceptable Behaviour (6%) 13 people taking part in the Bungee Jump to raise funds needed the jump will take place at Manchester Salford Queys on 17/01/2015
