Campaign Story
Jodie Mullen Olympic campaign Rio de Janeiro. I am 22 years old, my sport is judo, for the past six years I have been training full time at the Scottish High Performance Center Ratho, I am part of a team of Athletes within the Institute of sport Scotland programme. My aim is to qualify as a member of the British judo team and compete at the next Olympic Games in Brazil, for this to happen I will have to gain world ranking points at World Cups, Grand Prix's and European Events. I am currently self funded athlete, training at Ratho preparing for the Rio games. World cup bronze medalist in Mauritius, World Cup bronze medalist in Samoa 2013, I am a member of the British and Scottish team and have been for the past four years. Out with my training I am also a student working to gain my degree in Nursing, I attend Napier University, I do somehow manage my training around my studies and vice versa. The level of competition I have managed to reach does not come cheap, the tournaments I am required to attend to gain ranking points are costly and somewhat out of my financial range, without some kind of sponsorship or funding I may have gone as far as I can. My family own a small caffe and are trying to raise money by organising some kind of food feasts in the hope to give me some contribution towards my travel costs, I am not after hand outs without return, anyone who sponsors me can follow my progress when I am competing, most of the competition you can get live feed through Internet. Any sponsorship toward 2016 Olympics games will help me, participate in vital Olympics qualification tournament to qualify for Rio Games, I thank you for taking time to read this post.
Jodie has has now reached 50% of the required funding! thanks to all those that have donated to her campaign, her first completion will start this Month, Jodie will be competing in Estonia, these competition are to gain ranking points needed towards Rio Olympics.
