Carter Bernhard, my nephew, is a 5 year old boy born with Spina Bifida. He recently got his wish granted to meet his idol Bruce Springsteen only days after a 60 day hospitalization. The prayers and support from family, friends, and Facebook got my brother and his wife through an incredibly difficult time. Now Carter has returned to his home in NY and he faces many environmental challenges. Maybe you can help?
Do you feel blessed to be able to climb the steps into your home, to move freely from room to room without any barriers?
Now picture a 5 year old boy in a wheelchair crying because he cannot follow his sister through his house or keep up with his cousins when they go out the front door to play. My brother is a humble man with a broken heart desperate to improve the quality of life for his son. My brother left a job with good pay and benefits to move Carter near Boston for his surgeries. Unable to return to his previous job, Scott has taken a less desirable position with lower pay. With the move to a different state, the wait for Carter's benefits to reinstate is long.
I am imploring any financial assistance that you are willing to give to assist with home modifications. The money will go toward materials for building a ramp on the front entrance, paving the driveway for safer wheelchair mobility, knocking down walls to access the kitchen and to open his bed room wall to create access to the hallway bathroom. I thank you in advance for your support and ask for prayers for the campaigns success. Please invite friends and share event on your wall.
May God Bless You! Erin Bernhard Kozakiewicz on behalf of my nephew Carter Bernhard.
***Money raised will go toward cost for building a ramp and home modifications for improved wheelchair accessibility***
