Patrick asked me to post this on his behalf to everyone who has so generously offered their support:

Jackie and I are deeply, sincerely grateful for every single one of you for your comforting words of condolences and , most of all, help us give our Lillian and Vivian a proper visitation, beautiful flowers for their casket, funeral, cremation and urns for their final resting place.  It always bring tears to our eyes and heart to see so many of you , without any self gain, help provide this aid to make their memorial fund successful.  Words of thanks measures not our appreciation of your love and friendship.  For friends and family, we are really blessed to have you with us either in person or the cyberspace and we are so appreciative of what you have done for us.  Those who wish to remain anonymous, we respect your wishes but we constantly wonder who you are and hope we get to thank you in person.  For the people who do not even know us, we wish to be your friend.

No lie, we constantly check this memorial fund that our dear brother Kevin Clarke set up.  We do it not to see the total funds being raised but rather, we would make a zip line to the Comments tab for  the comfort of your warm wishes, condolences, and motivation.  We wish we could reply there, maybe this  letter would be best suited for that purpose.  It is really endearing to see so many GOOD PEOPLE  here.  We had endured 5 years of abysmal hell, all because I/we wish to be part of my/our daughters life to be with them and watch them grow up, and they in mine/ours.  Is that too much to ask?  We were merely a court case number to the slow judicial system bogged down due dirty tactics and thus the importance was forgotten.  I feel that this web page shows otherwise.   It showed  not only us but the WHOLE WORLD of how quickly good people like yourself responded to our need.  This will never be forgotten by everyone of us.

As this funding project comes to an end today, it too will be a big loss as it has been a clinging source of comfort for us.  Like the passing of my princesses, it need to pass and evolve into something more beautiful but never forgotten.

Lastly and most importantly,  again, we humbly bow and thank EVERY SINGLE ONE of you.

m=0=m       m=0=m

Sincerely,

Patrick Kian Beng Lee and Jackie Soh Jin Tay

 *******************************************************************************************************************************

On Thursday July 26th, my good friend Patrick Lee lost his six year old daughter Vivian and his eight year old daughter Lillian. Patrick was a loving father who was made to run the legal gambit for years to simply maintain visitation.

Lillian and Vivian were Pat's world. They followed in his footsteps with training, laughing, and enjoying life. The joy they brought to others was endless. With the passing of his beloved daughters, Pat is forced to carry an unfortunate burden. While nothing can truly ease the pain, we can provide a modicum of relief in such a trying time. Our goal is to aid Patrick with a relief/memorial fund to pay for the final expenses of his daughters. We ask for your help carrying this burden so that he may go through this process with one less distraction. Any amount is welcome.

UPDATE 08/01/2012

I feel that anyone compelled to read this must understand, this fundraiser is of no light and trifling importance, but is rooted in a genuine need.  For years Patrick had been fighting for custody of his girls. As many such disputes do, this took a turn for the worse and tactics followed suit.  Court battles were drawn out in an attempt to drain his financial ability to fight back for a number of years.  This has left the Patrick with an empty heart and a heavy financial burden he can ill afford.

We are making unbelievable strides towards our goal thanks to all of the generous contributions we have received, but this cannot stop until we hit the $14,600 mark has been met.

The goal we listed on this fundraiser is the amount needed to cover the cost of the funeral for Patrick and allow him to select fitting urns for Lillian and Vivian.  As soon as we reach the total goal of $20,600, the funds will be released and paid directly to the funeral home for Patrick allowing him to be able to focus on what is most important.  Because of the generosity of his family overseas and the friends who attended the visitation and funeral service, $6000 was contributed directly to Patrick during the visitation and funeral service.  Combined with the donations through this site, we have reached the halfway point of the needed funds and we have reduced the goal on the website to more accurately represent that.

The funeral director advised me that he would need Patrick’s permission to provide a copy of the invoice to me.  Patrick agreed thinking that I was asking to give a statement as opposed to receive THE statement.  After he realized what was happening he was speechless.  He even managed a faint smile among the tears and thanks that followed.  Given the gravity of what he is going through, a simple smile was truly amazing to behold.  While I was lucky enough witness it, that smile was not for me.  It was for everyone who has donated, posted or shared this.

Everyone who has been moved enough to be looking at this site should know that besides his wife Jacki, Patrick’s family is all in Malaysia and was unable to attend the services for his two little girls.  If you are unable to donate even the smallest amount, please consider commenting.  If you can’t find the words to comment, please consider sharing this.  Donations, comments and even the act of sharing this is something that Patrick sees and brings him comfort to him as well as his family.

Please help us keep momentum so we can do this for him.  Thank you for your continued support and please feel free to contact me should you have any questions.

Most Sincerely,

Kevin Clarke
