The beginning of this campaign has been much more successful than I anticipated and I thank you all for helping me in this endeavor in starting my life anew. In the last couple of days, I have: created a new checking account at a bank where my husband will not have access; deposited paypal funds from the campaign into that account; ordered a debit card from this new institution; and ordered a PayPal debit card so that I can access any balances that have not been deposited in my new account.

The area where I currently live is inundated with people trying to find housing. The apartment complexes are all full, the local landlords are fielding constant calls from people looking for rentals, and I am sixth in line for a tiny furnished studio apartment south of town. My friend who rents houses has one that will become available in August, and although I would have preferred an apartment so that I can avoid needing to fuss with mowing a lawn or shoveling snow, this seems to be my best option. If I end up getting the studio, I can live there month-to-month until the house is free. I will know the status of the studio by Wednesday.

As far as transportation goes, my father is considering my request that he help me out by buying me a car. If he decides not to, I do still have access to the car we were planning to give my oldest daughter after she obtained her driver's license.
