"At first I felt a resistance against putting our story on the internet and being so vulnerable. Now I discover that being open, vulnerable and transparant about our situation allows people to help us, create awareness and work towards change - I cannot be more thankful.

This is not only our story, this is the story of many many mothers, children and sometimes fathers. I also experience that there is still a lot of prejudice towards victims of mental abuse. What I also learned is that mental abuse sticks with you the longest and can damage your core being. Imagine children growing up with a parent that is mentally abusive. It's a big thing for victims to get out of the shade and step into the sun and make our voices heard.

I want people to know there is still a lot of work to be done since the law doesn't always protect us and actually can make a situation worse.

So thank you so much for supporting us. Please keep in mind there are people around us that are in the same situation, or even worse.
