MARCH 21 UPDATE OF LIGHAYA ABAO

Update posted by Lachmi Lugsanay

Trusting God's plan and design and saying "Letting go and letting God" is easier said than done. At times we have our own agenda which we wanted to pursue setting aside God's invitation to participate in his blueprint for us. But when you surrender totally to him, you lose yourself in child-like confidence and he will pour on you with his abundance you could not imagine. Family, relatives, friends, companions, and even those whom the Lord sends in the most trying times became a manifestation of his presence with us amidst the trials.

It's already 1 week since we rush my wife to the hospital, and in the span of a week, God's mercy and compassion flows out from your prayers and support.

Updates from Marvin Abao (husband of Lighaya)
The battle is not yet over. Lighaya Cabalhug Judilla-Abao is now recovering from her cs operation while giving birth to our second son, Gani. She is now trying to walk and regain strength for another battle to fight. Initially, we plan to move out from the hospital the soonest time allowed yet situate ourselves with close proximity to the hospital to also attend to the needs of our warrior son while regaining the needed strength for the liver surgery. The mass is still in my wife's body. Accordingly, the doctors are still studying her case as a rare case with a size they had not been before, 21 cm, and a volume. of 3.5 L capacity.

As for Gani, our little baby boy is also minding his own battle for life. He is in neonatal ICU(NICU) with so much straps for life support. The nutrients and the vitamins that were supposedly for him were deprived to him by the growth of the cancer cells. Making his growth slower against the enemy. These (straps, cables, and tubes) are needed for his condition since he is preterm and demands full attention and a handful of expertise and care. Lately, he had been fed 1cc of breastmilk every 6 hr which progressed to 3 cc every 3 hrs. Unfortunately, her mother is on medication and a high dosage of these meds saturate her milk making it unfit for a vulnerable and very preterm infant. As such, solicitations for breastmilk donations had been rolled out considering that it will still take a.while for his stay in the NICU and his needs for milk increase.

Let us not cease praying for their safety and protection, for the success of the liver surgery of Lighaya, for the guidance of the doctors who will perform the operation, and the good health of Giuseppe Mari Iesu "Gani". I'm begging your compassionate heart to please include Lighaya and my son, Gani, in your prayers. They both need our prayers.
