thanks again for contributing to the House Hope project - the building of the earthquake-proof house in Strašnik Village in Croatia.

It's been some time and I wanted to give you an update on the project.

Things are moving slowly, but they are moving in the right direction. We have raised c. 18.000 Euro altogether. This is not as much as we hoped for, but it was enough to start the ball rolling.

The initial funds inspired others to pledge their donations in kind. Currently, these are as follows:

1. Architect Hari Maras is donating his expertise and time

2. All engineers and workers are donating their skill and time

3. Veteran Hajduk football player Frane Bulić is donating 10,000 Euro to build the foundations of the house

4. Croatian government has promised to fund the demolition of the house (worth c. 10,000 Euro). The application papers for the demolition have been submitted and we are waiting for the approval.

The Salamun family has received donations from other sources too and they are putting everything towards the building of House Hope. All the raised money will be transferred to their family account, making them the sole investor for the house. This is the only way to avoid paying the 25% VAT that would otherwise just be lost to tax.

We are now accepting donations only through our website, for various reasons.

We are moving forward with House Hope even though, right now, we still haven't raised the needed amount. We've seen that once you make the first step, people begin to trust you. So we are starting with building the foundations, hoping that people will extend their trust and faith in us and this project.

Once again, we are sending you our deepest gratitude for standing by our side, for believing in us and for helping one family to get a new home.

This truly is House Hope. A new hope for the part of Croatia that has suffered greatly.
